Your Dog Stays Happy, Trained, and Safe

Professional boarding that keeps your dog’s routine intact while you’re away.

Two canines in a parking lot: a white dog with black spots sits on the left, and a golden retriever with a red leash lies down on the right. Both display happy behavior, looking up with open mouths.

Professional Dog Boarding Services

Come Home to a Well-Behaved Dog

You shouldn’t have to worry about your dog losing ground on training just because you’re traveling. Our dog boarding services in Head of the Harbor maintain the structure and routine your dog needs.

Your dog gets supervised playtime, consistent meal schedules, and reinforcement of the training they already know. No regression, no bad habits picked up from other dogs, no stressed-out behavior when you return.

You get regular updates, photos, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing your dog is in the hands of people who actually understand canine behavior. Not just someone who feeds them and lets them out.

Dog Boarding Process

We Know Dogs, Not Just Boarding

K9 Mania Dog Training has quickly become one of Long Island’s top independent dog training companies. While other boarding facilities treat dogs like inventory, we treat them like the individuals they are.

We’re not the oldest company in Head of the Harbor, but we’ve earned our reputation by focusing on what actually matters: results. Every dog that stays with us gets the benefit of our training expertise, not just a place to sleep.

We understand that Long Island dog owners expect more than basic boarding. You want your dog to come home better than when they left, not just fed and watered.

How to Prepare Your Dog for Boarding

Dog Boarding Process

Simple Process, Professional Results

We start with a consultation to understand your dog’s routine, training level, and specific needs. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach.

During their stay, your dog follows a structured schedule that includes exercise, training reinforcement, supervised socialization, and plenty of individual attention. We maintain the boundaries and expectations they’re used to at home.

You receive regular updates with photos and notes about how they’re doing. When you pick them up, we’ll walk you through anything noteworthy from their stay and provide recommendations for continued training at home.

Dog Boarding Camp Services

More Than Just a Place to Stay

Our dog boarding services include structured exercise programs, mental stimulation activities, and training reinforcement sessions. Your dog isn’t just sitting in a kennel waiting for you to return.

Head of the Harbor dog owners deal with busy schedules, long commutes, and demanding work lives. We understand that when you board your dog, you need to know they’re getting quality care, not just supervision.

Each dog gets individualized attention based on their energy level, training needs, and personality. High-energy dogs get extra exercise and mental challenges. Anxious dogs get additional comfort and routine. Senior dogs get gentler activities and more frequent check-ins.

Crate training helps create a safe and secure space for your dog, promoting relaxation and comfort when you're not home, aiding in housebreaking and reducing anxiety
We’re dog trainers first, boarding providers second. That means your dog doesn’t just get fed and walked—they get professional oversight that maintains their training and behavior standards. Most boarding facilities are glorified kennels where dogs spend 22 hours a day in small spaces. We provide structured activities, training reinforcement, and supervised socialization that keeps dogs mentally and physically engaged. You’re not paying for babysitting. You’re investing in professional care that ensures your dog comes home as well-behaved as when they left, if not better.
Every dog gets an individual assessment before their stay begins. We review their current training, behavioral quirks, and specific needs with you during the consultation. Dogs with advanced training get activities that challenge them and reinforce their skills. Dogs who are still learning basic commands get structured practice sessions. Dogs with behavioral issues get specialized attention to prevent regression. We don’t throw all dogs together and hope for the best. Each dog’s day is planned around their specific needs and training level, ensuring they get appropriate mental stimulation and boundaries.
Anxiety is normal for some dogs during boarding, which is why we maintain consistent routines and provide extra comfort measures for nervous dogs. Our staff recognizes stress signals and responds appropriately. Anxious dogs get quieter spaces, more frequent check-ins, and calming activities like puzzle toys or gentle training sessions. We don’t just let them “work through it” on their own. If a dog is having significant difficulty adjusting, we contact you immediately to discuss options. Sometimes a shorter stay or different approach is needed, and we’d rather adjust than let a dog suffer through unnecessary stress.
Yes, you’ll receive regular photo updates and notes about how your dog is doing throughout their stay. We know you want to see that they’re happy and well-cared for. Updates include photos from playtime, training sessions, and rest periods, along with notes about their appetite, energy level, and any noteworthy behaviors. You’re not left wondering how they’re doing. For longer stays, we provide more frequent updates. For dogs with special needs or first-time boarders, we can arrange additional check-ins to keep you informed and comfortable with their care.
Bring enough of their regular food for the entire stay, plus an extra day’s worth. Sudden diet changes can cause digestive upset, so we stick with what they’re used to eating. Include any medications with clear instructions, their favorite comfort items like a blanket or toy, and detailed notes about their routine, commands they know, and any behavioral quirks we should be aware of. We’ll also need their vaccination records and emergency contact information. The more information you provide about their normal routine and preferences, the better we can replicate their home environment during their stay.
