Professional Dog Boarding Services

Peace of Mind While You're Away

You know that feeling when you’re trying to enjoy your vacation but can’t stop worrying about your dog back home? That constant checking your phone, wondering if they’re okay, if they’re stressed, if they’re getting the attention they need.

Here’s what changes when you choose professional boarding that actually understands dogs. Your dog settles into a routine designed around their comfort, not convenience. They get individual attention from people who know how to read dog behavior and respond appropriately. You get real updates – photos, videos, honest communication about how they’re doing.

No more wondering. No more worrying. Just the confidence that comes from knowing your dog is genuinely well-cared for by people who take this seriously.

Dog Boarding Process

We Do Boarding Differently

K9 Mania Dog Training brings a fresh approach to dog boarding in Fort Salonga. While other facilities have been doing things the same way for decades, we’ve built our reputation by actually listening to what dog owners need and what dogs respond to best.

We’re not the biggest boarding facility on Long Island, and we’re not trying to be. We focus on providing the kind of individualized care that comes from understanding dog behavior, not just housing dogs. Our team knows the difference between a dog that needs more stimulation and one that needs more rest, between a dog that thrives in social settings and one that prefers quieter companionship.

Fort Salonga families choose us because we treat boarding as more than just a service – it’s a responsibility we take seriously.

How to Prepare Your Dog for Boarding

Dog Boarding Process

Simple Process, Exceptional Care

Getting started is straightforward. You bring your dog in for a brief meet-and-greet where we learn about their personality, routines, and any special needs. This isn’t just paperwork – we’re getting to know your dog so we can provide the right kind of care.

During their stay, your dog follows a structured routine that includes proper meals, exercise, rest periods, and individual attention. We don’t just let dogs loose in a big group and hope for the best. Each dog gets care that matches their energy level, social preferences, and comfort needs.

You stay connected through regular updates. Want photos? Videos? Just a quick text letting you know they’re doing well? We’ll work with whatever gives you peace of mind. When you pick them up, you’re getting back a dog that’s been genuinely cared for, not just supervised.

Fort Salonga Boarding Features

What Your Dog Actually Gets

Your dog stays in clean, comfortable accommodations with both indoor and outdoor access. They get regular meals, fresh water, and exercise appropriate for their age and energy level. More importantly, they get attention from staff who understand dog behavior and can recognize when a dog needs more stimulation, more rest, or just some quiet companionship.

Fort Salonga dog owners appreciate that we don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. A young, energetic lab gets different care than a senior dog with mobility issues. A social butterfly gets different interaction than a dog that prefers human company over other dogs.

We handle dogs with behavioral challenges, special dietary needs, medication schedules, and specific routines. Your dog doesn’t have to be “perfect” to stay with us – they just need to be yours.

Crate training helps create a safe and secure space for your dog, promoting relaxation and comfort when you're not home, aiding in housebreaking and reducing anxiety
Our standard boarding drop-off and pick-up hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We understand that travel schedules don’t always align perfectly with business hours, so if you need flexibility with timing, just give us a call at (516) 861-0400.We’ll work with you to accommodate reasonable requests for early drop-offs or late pick-ups. The key is communication – let us know what you need, and we’ll do our best to make it work. We’d rather adjust our schedule than have you stress about logistics when you’re trying to travel.
Absolutely, and we encourage it. We know you’re going to wonder how your dog is settling in, especially for the first day or two. Just let us know what kind of updates work best for you – photos, videos, or just a quick text letting you know they’re doing well. Some owners want daily photo updates. Others prefer just a check-in if there’s anything noteworthy to report. We adapt to what gives you peace of mind without overwhelming your phone. You can also call or text us at (516) 861-0400 anytime you have questions or concerns. The goal is for you to actually enjoy your time away instead of worrying about your dog back home.
Yes, we work with dogs that have behavioral challenges, special dietary requirements, medication schedules, and other specific needs. Our background in dog training means we’re comfortable handling dogs that might not be accepted at other boarding facilities.During the initial meet-and-greet, we’ll discuss your dog’s specific situation and create a care plan that works for them. Whether it’s separation anxiety, resource guarding, reactivity to other dogs, or medical conditions requiring special attention, we’ll be honest about what we can accommodate. We’d rather have that conversation upfront than have you discover last-minute that your dog can’t stay somewhere when you need to travel.
Bring enough of your dog’s regular food for their entire stay, pre-portioned and labeled with your dog’s name. We recommend sticking with their usual diet to avoid digestive upset during an already new experience. If your dog takes medications, bring those with clear instructions. A favorite toy or blanket can help with comfort, but don’t bring anything irreplaceable in case it gets damaged during play. We provide bowls, bedding, and everything else needed for their stay. Most importantly, bring a list of any special instructions, routines, or behaviors we should know about. The more we understand about your dog’s normal routine and preferences, the better we can care for them.
We don’t force socialization on dogs that aren’t comfortable with it. Some dogs prefer human companionship over dog playmates, and that’s perfectly fine. We assess each dog’s comfort level and social preferences during their stay.Dogs that are reactive or uncomfortable around others get individual exercise and attention rather than group play time. We have the space and staff flexibility to accommodate dogs that need more individualized care rather than group activities. Our training background helps us read dog body language and stress signals, so we can adjust their routine if needed. The goal is for every dog to have a comfortable stay, not to force them into situations that create stress.
