These treat recipes can range from the super simple with just a few ingredients to complicated but highly rewarding. So you can have your choice of which ones you want to make, though, all of them are worth a try!

Coconut Oil and Peanut Butter

When we said that there will be super simple recipes for dog treats here, we meant it. In fact, this one only has two ingredients.

  • 1C – Coconut oil
  • 1tsp – Smooth Peanut Butter

That’s it. Though, you might need a silicone mold to shape the treats. But that’s completely up to you!

1. Mix the ingredients together in a bowl until it forms a smooth paste. Make sure that the coconut oil has not solidified.

2. Take the resulting paste and shape it either by hand or using a silicone mold.

3. In a non-stick sheet or using the silicone mold, place the shaped treats in the freezer overnight.

4. Once frozen, carefully remove the shaped treats and place them in an airtight container before returning to the freezer.

Baby Food Treats

Continuing with the theme of simplicity in making homemade dog treats, next we’re using baby food! This particular recipe also only has two ingredients, namely:

  • 2 jars – Baby food
  • 2C – All-purpose flour

Once again, you can use a silicone mold to achieve the shape you want. You could also just shape this like you would playdough.

1. In a bowl, thoroughly mix the contents of the baby food jar and the flour.

2. Shape the resulting mass into the desired shapes either using the silicone mold or by hand.

3. For the treats that were shaped by hand, place them on a baking sheet dusted with flour.

4. Place the sheet in a 320F preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

5. Once baked, place the sheet on a cooling rack and allow it to cool.

6. Once cooled, collect the treats and put them in an airtight container to store.

Frozen Fruit Treats

With this recipe, you can have a bit more freedom to mess around. It’s not anything specific since you can use pretty much any kind of fruit or berry. You can mix them as you like, as well. They will form the base flavors and will be supported by yogurt and skim milk.

  • 2C – Pureed fruits or berries

  • ¼ C – Skim milk

1. Thoroughly mix the ingredients in a bowl until homogenous.

2. Using a silicone mold or an ice cube tray, divide the resulting mixture.

3. Place the mold or tray in the freezer and leave them overnight.

4. Remove the treats as needed.
